Without Internet..........hopefully Up and Working Today

Hello Sweetie Ladies...........

Yesterday I got home and our internet service was off and not working. We have been having horrible high winds for the last week. The tower blew over they said and hope to get it up later today. Shingles are flying off our barn and buildings. Sad to see. When you live on a farm that is old.......and the weather comes to destroy what you have........it is hard to watch. Our little Refuge Cabin has been getting hit also..........ugh...........never seems to be enough money to repair.........I know that many of you know what I am talking about. When I got home the chickens were all out.....(that means they get into the garden).........the wind pushed the door open. It has been bad...........but others around the country have it a lot worse than us. I know that many of you are needing pray........if you have something specific......please tell us.........and we will pray. Just watching some of the news has been heartbreaking. Tornados are so scary. God will not leave those people.........please be praying for them.

I am in at the college so I can get an update on the giveaway..............THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR JOINING IN ON THE GIVEAWAY! I  loved reading about what you garden plans were and if not........that you all go and support your local farmers and gardeners at the Farmer's Markets. That is so wonderful!

I will let you all know tomorrow after I get all the names calculated. We had a little over 250 entries total...........I can't wait to see who wins. I also received another Gooseberry Patch Cookbook in the mail yesterday to share with you all. I will have another party in a few weeks. Making an apron to go with that party. I can't wait to design and sew it up.

Hope when I get home that I have internet service!!!!!!!!

Hugs and thank you so much for joining in on the party...........I love....love....love your comments.......it's like getting to know you all just a little bit better. Feels like family.

God Bless you..............love you bunches,
Linda

Hello sweet ladies,

As you know I just loveeeeeeeee Gooseberry Patch, their cookbooks, craft books, their fun blog........and their facebook You will love them if you haven't heard about them before.

Remember when I told you that I had received two cookbooks in the mail. Well I had so hoped to get the party going sooner, but we have had catering's going on in the kitchen and that has had me quite busy. Plus hosting the girls from the college........took some time for me to get the Refuge Cabin fixed up. Which I thoroughly enjoyed. But..........now.......

It's time for another

Now some may say........why have an autumn cookbook now in the spring? Well many of you are starting your gardens and this has some wonderful recipes that you need to plan for now as you plant your produce. Even if you don't have a garden it's so fun to go to the Farmer's Market and buy when the veggies and fruits are plentiful. During the  growing season you can freeze or can so you can have everything available to do lots of baking through out the year. The cookbook has wonderful recipes so you would want to make sure you had apples on hand....... so you can bake up some Scrumptious Apple Pancakes, or pumpkins to whip up a Savory Pumpkin Soup, .........spinach for Spinach & Onion Quiches, green beans and potatoes to make Janet's Farm Pie or a must ......... yellow squash and tomatoes to make a Hearty Squash Casserole.  I hope this gives you a little  insight on what is in the cookbook.

Oh and the cookbook is available on my side bar..... if you would like to order through us)? The extra amount I make goes 100% towards Viataliy's adoption.

I tried out the cookbook in the college kitchen with
Pecan Pie Muffins........talk about very very good. The kids thought so.

It is such a simple recipe to mix up......

Pecan Pie Muffins

1 c. chopped pecans
1 c. brown sugar, packed
1/2 c. unbleached flour
2 eggs
1/2 c butter or coconut oil
melted and cooled slightly

Mix pecans, brown sugar and flour in a large bowl; make a well in the center and set aside. In a separate bowl, beat eggs just until foam appears. Stir in butter or oil. Add pecan mixture; stir just until moistened. Spoon batter into muffin cups greased only on the bottom, filling about 2/3 full. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes, until golden. Promptly remove from muffin tin; cool on a wire rack. Makes 9.

They are pretty and very nummy

Great with a bowl of yogurt with granola sprinkled on top.

Ellianna

Hello.........busy weekend.......busy yesterday........hopefully slowing down today.

Hope you all had a wonderful Resurrection Day.........ours was so special. Tucking it in my heart. Jesus became even more real to me. He really does love the world........a lot.

Thank you for all who wrote..........blessed me...........you are all so kind. I appreciate it.

Got a note from Hannah and Mark........Ellianna's parents and a baby picture. Thought you would enjoy seeing who you have been praying for and how good she is looking. I will also put in the letter from Hannah.

Thank you Father for answered prayer.

Preciousness!!!!!!!!

Hi everyone~

We haven't had any significant updates recently, so here is a little about where we are...

Ellianna is 4lbs 13oz now.  She has been steadily gaining.  Starting to outgrow those preemie outfits:)
She had been at kind of a standstill with feeding, but Saturday morning she decided she was moving on.  She pulled out her own feeding tube!  The nurses decided to see how long she could take bottles before she needed a tube put back in.... it never happened because she has been gulping away on her own ever since!  I am still pumping religiously and hoping she will be able to nurse soon.

Her blood has been looking good since her last transfusion.  We hope her body will kick into gear to produce blood cells on its own before the levels have time to drop.  I am finally far enough out from surgery to see if I can donate blood for her just in case she needs it.

She has quite a bump on her head where fluid is collecting from the shunt, but it makes a handy place to stick a little bow:)  Her head ultrasound this morning showed she may need revision or replacement of the shunt soon.  We will wait to hear what her neurosurgeon has to say.

She has a head MRI, echocardiogram of her heart, and eye check all scheduled this week.  If all of those things look good, she will be very close to home.

We had a nice family visit with her on Easter and I attached some of the pictures.

Thank you for your many prayers.

love,  Hannah

Keep praying please.........the Father has heard you. You are so sweet to think of others.

Hugs and blessings...........from my farm to your HOME,

Linda

Hello Sweet Friends

Hello sweet ladies,

Here is a resent pic of Ellianna. Her nurse taped a bow on her head so her shunt won't show. She had to have another blood transfusion last Tues night. Things went well I think. Please keep praying that she will eat on her own so they can bring her home. Thank you so much.

The day was beautiful and so I spent a lot of time outside....when I got home. So good to see the girls that are here for the weekend. Micah decided to jump on Kansas........Tay's horse........who really only likes Tay and try to ride her bareback. Kansas decided that she did not like having Micah on her back. So every time Kansas bucked.......Micah slid a little further off the backside. Until........finally..........she landed hard on the ground spraining her wrist and one knee. The girls spent time in the emergency room because the accident happened after hours. Not a fun way to start off the Easter weekend. Micah is doing fine......but it does hurt. Oh and in fact it is Ellianna's Aunt.

Today was Good Friday and for the first time in years our family didn't get to go to the church service that we have always gone to during the day...........change. Do we ever like change? I am finding out not me. I will learn to live with it though....change that is..............I will keep saying Thank You Lord to the best of my abilities. It helps when I know that He is in charge.

Mrs. Guinnea has added another egg. She is building her nest up....... I hope. Would love to see some babies.

Blessings to you all,
Linda

Little Things

Good evening sweet ladies,

The evening tonight was beautiful outside..........I spent some time working on some things for a fund raiser to get our Vitaliy HOME. We are doing a little "sale thing" tomorrow night in a town not far from us. I will let you all see soon what we will be selling.........life just  seems so busy and I don't seem to let my feet touch the ground.

Look at what I found......Momma Guinea's nest. When I was working in the garden she was squawking at me and I wondered what was going on..........I started to turn and look what she was not happy with me about. I was just to close to her nest..........I was so excited to see that she may be having babies for the farm. They are wonderful for eating bugs in your garden.

I went to the other garden and later came back and look.......she is hiding and sitting on her eggs..........I love this about farm life.......you  can have a lot of babies in the spring time. I loveeeeeee babies.

Don't ya just love violets? I do...........walked by the barn where I planted these a few years back............look at the guinea feather laying on the top of the leaves. Isn't it amazing to see God's real life paintings? Love the polka dots. They are sooooooo beautiful. The feathers make up for the not so cute Daddy and Momma Guineas heads...........not sure why they are kind of wellllll...........ugly. The Lord has His reasons I am sure.

Thought you might like to see our little Miss Koko.........she is growing so fast. She just got a brand new halter......and she is doing so well. We always put a halter on the big horses before they eat their grain. We will do the same with Koko.......now she gets the halter on just before she get taken out of the corral.

Hope all of you are doing well...........you are in my prayers. Write if you need something special for me to pray about. For us if you wouldn't mind continue to pray for the adoption for Vitaliy.........and that the process would go fast and smooth. There have been a few complications........but that is to be expected.

Thank you so much for all your care towards our family. I want you  to know we do care about your families also..........if we can ever be of help........please let us know.

Hugs from my farm..........to your HOME,

Linda

The Shortest Post Ever

Hello sweet ladies..........talk about tired. First off Mr. Honey and I were called into the office.....well my first thought was..........IN TROUBLE! Me of little faith.........just has always seemed when we try to do good.........trouble. Ya know what I mean? Anyway our boss told us that we had been doing a very good job.......I am sure my mouth dropped right before him........it was so nice to be encouraged and he did do just that. He also handed us envelopes.........one for me and one to my honey. It was money to do what ever we wanted to do with it. Something for our farm........go on a date.......wow would that be a fun date............what ever we might want. It was such a blessing ladies. He also said that the girls were doing a fantastic job. Thank you Jesus for your faithfulness. It has still been hard to meet all our bills, because we have had lots of holidays when the school isn't open.......but again......the Lord has gotten us through. It was such a good day. I walked out of the office.......very thankful. He also said next year we would get a raise. Oh my heart sang. I love my Lord........I belong to Him and it is so good that He knows what we need when we need it.

Then we got a call from Aundraya and Chelsea.......they needed to plant a tree for a school project....and needed a place to plant it........we knew just where they could ......out by the cabin. It was a stick.........going to be a Dogwood Tree. Suppose to have white flowers. It is at one of the corners of the cabin........it will be fun for them to watch it grow with them.

They had to be silly............waiting for it to grow. They had to take pic's for the school. Thank you girls for the tree........I am going to like watching it grow.

Katie wanted to go and catch a chicken in the coop. Silly girl.

One of our girls thought you had to squeeze the chicken to get the eggs out..........could be a long long teaching time for some...........they are keepers......love em so much...........smile.

Love this pic's...........they made some wonderful memories.

Thank you so for all the sweet comments ladies.......glad you enjoyed the pic's.

Hugs from our farm to your Home,

Linda

Our Girls

Hello sweet ladies..........

I got to see my girls at work today.......it was so special that they were there. It has made going to work a lot more fun for Tressa and Taylor..........the girls peeked through the kitchen doors..........we liked.

When they came out on Friday night we had had other plans for the girls, but the wind was blowing 50 to 55 miles per hour. In the day it was up to 70. Anyway we just changed the plans.........and we served  snacky foods and they stayed in the Refuge Cabin. I forgot to say that it was in the 30's........very cold outside. They stayed up talking until 2 in the morning.........girls. In the pic above you can see that the CHRISTmas lights were on......really made it pretty. They had devotions in the evening.

The next morning I came to greet the girls.........they went around the farm looking at the animals. We so enjoyed them. So many were from the city.......so it was nice to share the country. They enjoyed. Kara and baby Koko.

I love this pic of Mackenzie brushing her teeth.......cutie. Doesn't she look like a prairie flower?

They cooked pancakes on the floor. It was the only place that we could plug in the grildle........it worked.......they were so fun about everything.

Dee spoke on marriage...........God will bless her in her's........she is learning.........she is in the Word........the Lord will lead them.

We served them in the Potter's shed. They made pancakes and we made fried farm fresh eggs.  They liked eating right by the horse pen it seemed. They could see little Koko playing and running around.

In the middle is Dee.........she is the bride to be........precious girls!

Silly girl...........kitty holding on for dear life.

Sweet

We piled them on the back of the truck..........and took them.......

down to Peace Creek to go fishin.........they didn't catch a thing........but I don't think it mattered. They were together........relaxing and enjoying God's blessings. They will be keepers in our hearts...........and now they are a part of the Stubbs Family. We never knew that when we went to work at the college the Lord would bless us so............I know some of you have been praying since we started at the college (thank you)....... that the Lord would use us. He also used them to love us.............my daughters are so excited........they have a whole bunch of sisters now. God is so precious to His children..........especially when we are looking for His working.

Dee kept the Lord before the girls all weekend.........it was precious to watch.

Hope you enjoyed.

Blessings sweet ladies.........thank you for all the comments. They were so appreciated, also welcome new followers........noticed one of my girls just became a follower........yeah!!!!

P.S. Please pray about our Vitaliy and getting his phone number for his phone...........long story.........but really want the Lord to help us out here.

Linda

They Came..........and They Moved Into This Momma's Heart

Hi sweet ladies............one fantastic week of getting ready...........a night and a day to meet some precious Godly young Ladies.

We had been asked by one of the college girls (Dee) if we would open our farm for her to host her bachelorette party.........we of course said yes. I had quite a few things I needed to do to get the little Refuge Cabin ready.....praying........cleaning........sweeping..............moving some of the items that were in it out........as you already know a new window put in.........and some decorating to do. I was going to make it simple so I made some..........

curtains........ for the window.........

covered the big cushion for the wicker couch that belongs to my Micah (a sweet young lady who has been in my life it seems like forever) when she gets married.........some day.....but I get to use it until then.

I used the table cloth that I had been saving forever. It was a gift from a blogger friend Gloria from Under Her Wings  (it is a must go......she loves JESUS......lots) for the Potter's Shed........for my tea parties.......but this seems just exactly what it needed to be used for for this weekend. Hung an old farm window with a wreath.

I had been given 3 candelabra's........they are not something that I would go buy........but since I needed light I had this idea to use my little canning jars and tea lights to give more light in the place. I have made lights using canning jars for years. Take a jar........fill it with silk flowers........leaves.........potpourri......anything. Fill the jar with candle oil..........I buy long cotton wicks that I get from Hobby Lobby in the candle department. Take a large nail.......with a hammer nail a hole into the center of a canning jar lid. Put the wick through the bottom side of the jar lid and then through so about 1/4" of the wick is sticking out on the top of the jar. Place the wick down into the oil and screw lid on jar. Tie ribbon around the jar. I have made these to go down the center of a tables and they are beautiful.......would also be pretty for a wedding. Easy and cheap.

Put an old door against the corner with tin wall hanging with flowers. Hung a lantern from the ceiling with a candle.

I put this sign up as a reminder of how just a little faith can grow. After praying for 30 years for a Refuge Cabin........my Father has made it possible. God heard me.........and answered........love it.

I had a little cupboard that was given to me............filled it up with games and such (my friend Angelina from Pioneer Beauty gave me the red polka dot napkins).........perfect for the evening. I will spray paint the cupboard white someday.....or maybe red? What do you think.

Honey helped me move in the old red chair that I saw one time in someones yard with FREE on it.........I told Mr Farmer to brake it........he did and he looked at me funny as I said that we could tie it on top of the van..........he did.........he loves me.........a lot.........I am so glad........cause I love him a lot and I would tie a deer for him on top of the car........ if he asked. LOVE just does that right?

Since the cabin doesn't have electricity.........we had to borrow a huge extension cord and get some out there. It worked. I took a big gallon jar and filled it with CHRISTmas lights. I thought it looked cute. That was at the entrance of the door.

The girls and I strung CHRISTmas lights all around the top edge of the inside of the cabin and then up in the loft. It looked adorable and very warm. I knew the girls were going to love it.

Since we don't have water....... in the little barn.........they used this to wash up. I made sure the water was warm........I think that helped.

I had everything ready........even the port-a potty. One of the girls I guess was talking to another girl on the way out. She asked something about if there isn't a bathroom in the cabin what are we going to use. The other girl told her that they were going to dig a hole. Poor girl. Then they drove up the yard........she saw the port-a-potty she said she wasn't using that either. Heehee............she ended up using it.

My sweet Taylor bought her Momma this..........for the cabin...............love it.

ADORABLE GIRLS

Here is a pic of my girls. They are mine now.......I adopted them.......and they adopted me. It will work just fine for me..........pray that I can be an example of Christ to them.

Titus 2:3-5
Likewise, teach the older women to be reverent in the way they live, not to be slanderers or addicted to much wine, but to teach what is good. Then they can urge the younger women to love their husbands and children, to be self controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands, so that no one will malign the word of God.

I will continue with part two on tuesday..........the time was fun.......the girls want to come again............can't wait.

Hugs from my farm to your HOME,

Linda
